Harry Toddler Book One

illustrated by Carrie Spencer

Harry Toddler was a special boy.
Not just because he always said please and thank you, tried to share his toys, or ate every last bite on his plate before going outside to play. Harry Toddler was special because he was a wizard. He could do magic.

His Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon did not like magic, so when Harry (totally by accident) set a worm
after his cousin Dudley, they sent him away.

At Hogwarts, Harry met lots of new friends, but his best friends were Ron Wagonwheel and Hermione Grahamcracker. And soon, he even had an enemy: Draco Mamasboy, and his sidekicks Crab and Gargoyle.

Draco could be a bully, but the worst part about Hogwarts was definitely naptime.
Every single day, Ms. Oldemort made all the kids take a nap. Harry did not like naps, and every day he would fight it. Sometimes he got so tired from fighting it, he fell asleep.
And every day while the kids slept, Ms. Oldemort would drink a juice box. And Harry knew, that was how she stayed awake day after day. If Harry could just get to the juice box first, he could stay awake and Ms. Oldemort would be the one to take a nap!

It wasn’t easy.
He had to get past a ferocious beast.

He almost got eaten by a giant plant.

Then, finally, he reached the juice box.
But Ms. Oldemort was fast, and she caught him. She took him to his bed, but he wiggled so much she could barely hold on to him.
In the struggle, the juice box was smashed.
Harry was covered in grape juice, but at least Ms. Oldemort couldn’t drink it today. She started to look drowsy, and soon, she fell asleep. Harry stayed awake all the way until the end of the day, when Grandpa Dumby came to pick him up.
“Harry!” he said, “Didn’t you nap today?” He looked at Ms. Oldemort, who was still asleep in the corner.
“Harry no nap!” Harry said. Grandpa Dumby smiled, a twinkle in his eye.
“I’m afraid you’ve only delayed your nap time, Harry. Ms. Oldemort will wake up soon. But you’ve got pure nerve and outstanding courage. You’ll be just fine.”
So Harry went back home to play with Dudley and show him some things he had learned at preschool that would make the worm incident look like child’s play.
